Billing, Insurance and Financial Assistance

Dallas Medical Center accepts most insurance plans, including traditional Medicare and Medicaid and most replacement plans, private insurance and Workers’ Compensation. The hospital will verify your insurance eligibility and benefits prior to your arrival. If your benefits are less than 100% coverage, our Financial Counselor will contact you before your surgical procedure or diagnostic test regarding a deposit equal to your estimated patient liability. Any outstanding balances for previous services will also be included. Your registrar will ask you for payment at time of service. Your payment may be made by cash, check or credit card. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted. If payment cannot be made in accordance to these guidelines, contact the Financial Counselor at 972-888-7176.

Emergency treatment is never withheld based upon a patient’s ability to pay. Once your emergency situation has been assessed with a Medical Screening examination by our Emergency Room physician, you may be admitted to the hospital. You will be visited by the Financial Counselor to review your benefits and establish financial arrangements. A minimum $2,500 deposit is required for an inpatient stay without insurance. If your condition is determined to be not emergent, you will have the option to continue treatment in the Emergency Room with payment of your insurance copay or a $400 deposit if you are uninsured.

The hospital accepts your insurance and files a claim on your behalf. You, as the patient who receives services, are responsible for payment of your hospital bill. Any balance remaining after insurance has paid or denied your claim is due in full. Our Central Business Office can assist you with payment of your account after discharge at 972-888-7001.

Financial Assistance

Dallas Medical Center understands that paying for emergency or other medically necessary medical care can be difficult, particularly for patients who lack health insurance. As part of our commitment to our patients, we provide financial assistance to patients who are underinsured or uninsured and who satisfy certain requirements. Our Financial Counselors work hard to help patients address their financial responsibilities, and they will help you find financial solutions that can help cover your cost of care.

The Dallas Medical Center Financial Assistance Program applies to uninsured or underinsured patients who come to our facilities for emergency or other medically necessary treatment. This program provides financial relief to patients who qualify based on a comparison of their financial resources and/or income to Federal Poverty Level guidelines. To qualify for assistance, patients will be asked to complete a Financial Assistance Application. If you have questions regarding our program or application, please call 972-888-7176.
