Mr. J.T. Barnhart Named CEO of Dallas Medical Center
Effective May 23, 2016, J.T. Barnhart has joined Dallas Medical Center
as CEO. Barnhart has a successful record of healthcare leadership and
operational experience. He joins Dallas Medical Center from St. Lucie
Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, FL, a member of Hospital Corporation
of America (HCA). J.T. served as Chief Operating Officer for the 229-bed
facility, and while there, he was successful in improving HCAHPS and employee
engagement while improving financial metrics and increasing ER visits
and admissions.
Prior to St. Lucie, Barnhart served as Chief Operating Officer for Lawnwood
Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce, FL, another
member of HCA. Among his successes, he developed successful new service
lines and oversaw millions of dollars in construction and renovation to
position the hospital as a leader in the community.
Prior to his tenure with HCA, Barnhart served in a variety of leadership
roles with Health Management Associates (HMA), including CEO at Clearview
Regional Medical Center in Monroe, GA and COO at Dallas Regional Medical
Center in Mesquite, TX. Barnhart received his MBA from the University
of Central Florida.
